Spring in Whistler
With on-mountain activities closed for the season and many summer activities not open yet, spring in Whistler is a little bit quieter than in peak-season, but nonetheless there is still a lot to do and with the warmer temperatures on the forecast, this spring is shaping up to be a sunny one.

TEE OFF
There’s nothing like hitting a few links after work. We are lucky in to have five golf courses in the area to choose from. Formerly the Meadows Golf Club and now called Sunstone Golf Club – Bar & Grill in Pemberton (just 30km away) is now open for the season and you can book a tee time here. Big Sky Golf Club in Pemberton is not too far behind, opening April 23. Scheduled to open in May is Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, Nicklaus North Golf Course and Whistler Golf Club.
TIME OUT WITH TAKE OUT
Take the night off, cooking! Many of the local restaurants, cafés, bakeries, pubs and breweries are not only offering patio dining but also extensive take-out menus, with some offering delivery and curb-side pickup. Some of my favourite restaurants in Whistler include Carumba, Coast Mountain Brewing, Creekbread, La Bocca, La Cantina and so many more. Tourism Whistler has a great “Doors Open” directory that features all of the dining options available.
DOG DAYS
This weekend is National Pet Day! I am lucky enough to have my own furry-friend at home but an organization that deserves recognition at this time is Whistler Animals Galore, Whistler’s Animal Shelter. Recently voted Whistler’s Favourite Non-Profit by Pique Newsmagazine, W.A.G is an essential community asset that provides a number of programs that are so valuable to Whistler. They run volunteer programs, host fundraisers, pet foster programs and more. In honour of National Pet Day, here is the link to Whistler Animal Galore’s donation page.

PEDAL POWER
No matter what your ability level is, Whistler offers an endless variety of biking options for people just starting out or adrenaline junkies and everywhere in between. Although Whistler Mountain Bike Park isn’t open yet (Open May 21, 2021), there are still plenty of trails to ride and places to explore. One of the most popular areas this spring is Lost Lake not only offering a ton of trails, but a refreshing lake to stop at once you finish your ride.
