Tourism Whistler Mike Crane

Welcome, May!

Spring is in full bloom in Whistler. The tulips are out and it’s nice to see some colour back in the gardens throughout Whistler. Warmer temperatures mean more time outside so I’ve certainly been enjoying the trail network and a quick 9-holes when I can fit it in!

REAL ESTATE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
With British Columbia’s recent travel restrictions in place, there has been discussion on what that means for Real Estate. Real Estate continues to fall under the category of essential services which means that both Realtors and Clients can still travel if it is related to a transaction; like viewing a property.

Of course if you’d rather view a home virtually, we also have Face-Time, Zoom, Skype available as alternatives. Have questions about our protocols or procedures? Reach out to me, I’d be happy to help!

CALLING ALL WINE LOVERS
This month, on May 25, we will celebrate National Wine Day! I can’t talk about wine without mentioning one of my favourite wineries Fort Berens that is less than a two hour drive from Whistler, in the town of Lillooet. Their Tasting Room and Patio are both open and are situated above the vineyard and have stunning views of the valley. Many of their wines are available throughout liquor stores, click here to see if your local store carries their wine. To celebrate this National Wine Day, I’ll likely cook up a delicious dinner pair it with their crisp Pinot Gris or perhaps even their Rosé. If you try their wine, tag me on instagram!

MOTHER’S DAY

This Sunday, May 9 is Mother’s Day! This is your chance to celebrate the mom in your life with something special, just for her! While we can’t dine indoors, there are plenty of patios open for business in Whistler as well as some to-go options that would make for a great picnic at the park.

  • Harvest Catering is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch Box complete with quiche and Belgian waffles, hot smoked salmon and chocolate truffles.
  • Good Grazing also does wonderful charcuterie boxes with a wide variety of both savoury and sweet nibbles that mom will sure to enjoy.
  • Elements Tapas Parlour is another great patio open for breakfast starting at 9am. One of my favourite items on their menu is their stuffed French toast. Don’t’ forget the mom-osa.
  • Araxi is another favourite of mine. I don’t think you can beat this one; the view, the location, the brunch menu. Did we mention it’s covered and heated?

Staying in this Mother’s Day? I seem to look for any occasion to cook up a gourmet brunch so I’ll be making a recipe from Half Baked Harvest; Baked Strawberry and Cream Stuffed Croissant French Toast.
