SPRING IN WHISTLER

It’s official – Welcome spring! I know I’m not the only one who has been looking forward to warmer temperatures and longer days. Although its not warm and sunny this week in Whistler, its certainly headed in that direction as every morning on my dog walks, there is less and less snow! So what is there to enjoy in Whistler this spring? Plenty! See below for my picks for spring.

British Columbia has lifted some important restrictions and I think everyone is excited for these changes. Wearing masks in public indoor settings is no longer required by public health. Some businesses and certain events can choose to continue requiring masks on their premises, you can usually find signs on their doors with the specific requirements. It’s important that we respect the choices of people, businesses and of course each other.

Still Time to Ski
Is there really anything better than a bluebird ski day? I don’t think so! Whistler Blackcomb is still open – Whistler Mountain is open until April 18 and Blackcomb Mountain is open until May 23 – so you still have plenty of time to get up the mountain. I love the spring weather for trying new things so now might be the time to take advantage of ski or snowboard school and try a new sport or even perfect your technique.

Après
After finishing a day on the slopes or adventuring around Whistler, a patio beverage in the sun is the best way to celebrate. Whistler LOVES to après so there are countless options both mountain and off. Don’t forget to order snacks too! Tourism Whistler has a specific ‘Après Map’ with all the best spots – view it here.

Keep it Chill
Whistler’s Valley Trail is my favourite way to get around Whistler. It connects Whistler village to several neighbourhoods, lakes, viewpoints and more. The Valley Trail is pedestrian-only and more than 45km of paved trails, perfect for walking, running and biking. There is still some sports of snow and slush but every day there is less and less!

How about you – What is your favourite thing about spring?
