Tourism Whistler | Mike Crane

Welcome back British Columbia! It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for – B.C. is officially open, meaning Whistler is open and ready for YOU! We are now in Phase 2 of BC’s Restart Plan, which allows recreational travel within the province, and of course, this includes Whistler! I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling like these restrictions have gone on long enough, I’m very much looking forward to seeing our mountain town back to it’s vibrant self.

BE PREPARED

As they say “Know Before you Go” – Tourism Whistler is a great resource as always, offering tools to help with travel plans, itineraries and activity ideas. There are still COVID-19 restrictions in place, and many businesses are operating on a smaller scale. I definitely recommend you check out this great resource to help planning your trip to Whistler.

MY TOP 10 WHISTLER MUST-DO’s

  • Coffee – First things first! My favourites include Blenz, Moguls and Portobello all make a good cuppa!
  • Golf – There are 5 courses in the area. Fresh air, exercise, wildlife and of course, a cold patio beverage after your round. Here are my favourite courses.
  • Dine – There is no shortage of delicious dining in Whistler. Some of my favourites include Elements Tapas, Caramba, Mexican Corner & Araxi.
  • Walk – The options are truly endless. Some of my favourites are Fitzsimmons Nature Trail, Lost Lake Loop & Train Wreck Hike. Read more here.
  • Treat yourself – If you’ve ever been to Whistler, you’ve been to PureBread. If you haven’t…run!
  • Take the gondola – Sightseeing on Whistler Blackcomb is open and the views are incredible.
  • Bike – Ride to one of the many beaches or head up the chairlift to the Bike Park, Whistler has a trail for everyone and every ability (and adrenaline level!)
  • Stay Hydrated – There is an incredible craft beer scene in BC and Whistler doesn’t disappoint. Check out Coast Mountain Brewing and Whistler Brewing.
  • Meet The Locals – Whistler Farmer’s Market is open for the season. Fresh produce from local farms and artisanal goods. Located by the Whistler Racket Club on Sundays.
  • Wine-Down – Long summer nights and warm weather just makes you want to sit on a patio doesn’t it? Whistler has some great patios, perfect for a post-adventure day glass of vino. Table Nineteen at Nicklaus North Golf Course and The Mallard Lounge offer a great selection of wines and some exceptional views.

Here are some other activities I would recommend to do while in Whistler this summer.

You could own your own little slice of paradise – while you’re in Whistler, do reach out if you’d like to view any properties. I’d love to meet you and show you what makes Whistler so special.
